Dear Friends,

Today in Connecticut, and in Farmington and Unionville, we are fortunate to enjoy a uniquely high quality of life. We benefit from a commitment to equal opportunity for all, built on laws that support tolerance, inclusivity, and the rights of women. We’ve maintained and strengthened these and other rights thanks to majorities in our state legislature and constitutional officers who are committed to their integral place in our society. But all of this now hangs in the balance. In the wake of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions that threaten our safety, our privacy, our environment, women’s rights, and access to critical healthcare, it is imperative that Connecticut voters continue to support candidates who will protect the essential freedoms of all of our residents.

For seven terms in the CT General Assembly, I have championed these rights as well as the rights of families, enhancing access to quality child care and supporting outstanding schools. I’ve paid close attention to the needs and concerns of seniors and persons with disabilities. As businesses in other states consider moves to Connecticut for our inclusive values, it’s important to note that my colleagues in the legislature and I have worked to create a pro-growth environment backed by strong fiscal management that includes the largest tax cut in state history.

In the face of many imminent challenges, it will take experienced, patient, and thoughtful leadership to maintain Connecticut’s desirability and deliver meaningful, long-term solutions. Through years of successful bipartisan work, I have built up the state-level relationships necessary to maintain state aid for our town and be responsive to the needs of all Farmington and Unionville residents, businesses, and schools. My successes in these areas are detailed in the Accomplishments section of this site.
