State Representative Mike Demicco (D-21st District) was unanimously endorsed to run for a seventh term at a recent meeting of the Farmington Democratic Town Committee (FDTC) because of his significant accomplishments in office that directly benefit the residents of Farmington and Unionville.
Mike currently serves in a seniority position as Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, and serves on the Environment, Public Health, Energy & Technology, and Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committees.
Mike’s notable legislative record includes the following achievements:
Farmington High School Building Project and Town Services
- Secured an increased state reimbursement of up to $40 million for the construction of the new FHS facility
- Increased state municipal aid to Farmington
- Secured funding to the town for projects including the Live Fire Training Facility, FHS turf field, sidewalks and street lights in Unionville Center, sidewalk improvements in Farmington Village, capital improvements at the Farmington Library
Education
- Increased state education aid to Farmington
- Increased educational opportunities and workforce development
- Increased funding for school security

- Provided tax relief for parents (child tax credit)
